San Francisco residents are offered free admission days by the California Academy of Sciences, available one weekend each Spring and Fall. The privilege is zip code-oriented; hence, your current ID is required to avail the benefit.

To be eligible for the lottery, one must present themselves at the ticket counter 2.5 to 3 hours prior to the performance. The draw usually occurs approximately an hour later.
These impromptu lottery tickets are typically sold at the friendly price of around $25 per ticket. Only cash transactions are accepted, so plan accordingly. You can generally enter the lottery for a maximum of two tickets. While this is open to all, it’s an insider tip cherished by locals, as tourists are generally disinclined to spend hours hoping for tickets.
From my personal experience, attempting to secure tickets during weekdays has yielded the best results. There have been occasions where there were more tickets than prospective buyers.

Coit Tower
