The Parade of Ships heralds the official commencement of the Fleet Week San Francisco celebrations. All participating ships sail beneath the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, making their way to their designated piers in San Francisco. During the three-day celebration, visitors are welcome to explore these magnificent vessels.
A few years back, my mother, sister, and I were fortunate enough to witness the Parade of Ships from Alcatraz Island, one of the prime locations for this event. Here are a selection of photos from that memorable day.
The Grand Fleet Procession is poised to commence. Positioned at the lower part of the image, all the vessels eagerly await the commencement of the procession. Standing prominently in the background is the majestic Golden Gate Bridge, serving as the gateway for all the boats entering the San Francisco Bay to participate in the event.
